Write to Us
We like hearing from readers. Several of our favourite articles started as a single line in someone's email, and many small improvements to older pieces came from people who noticed a step that no longer worked. Write to inbox@documentaries-lectures.com, or use the form on this page, which opens your own email program with a message ready to send.
What to write to us about
- Something that looks wrong. A fact that has changed, an instruction that did not work for you, or a sentence that reads oddly.
- A question an article did not answer. If you were left wondering about the next step, others probably were too.
- An idea for a piece. A hobby, a film-making problem, a travel puzzle or a learning habit you would like us to explore.
- Feedback on how we write. Too long, too short, too much jargon? We would rather know.
Details that help
Please mention the page you are writing about, ideally with its address. For a correction, a sentence on what you expected and what you found is plenty. For an idea, a little background on why it matters to you helps us shape the article around a real situation rather than a guess.
What we cannot do
We are a small editorial team, so a few things are outside what we can offer:
- Questions about your own health, a legal matter or your finances belong with a qualified professional, not with us.
- Companies, services or venues that appear in articles handle their own orders, bookings and accounts, so we cannot sort those out.
- A mention in an article is not a guarantee, so compare options before you book or buy.
- We cannot review files, footage or manuscripts sent as attachments.
How long a reply takes
We read everything. Simple answers often go out within a few days; corrections that need checking can take a little longer, because we want to get the fix right. If a message changes an article, we update the page and note that it was revised.
Your email and your privacy
Your address and message are used only to reply and, where relevant, to improve the article you wrote about. We do not add anyone to a mailing list without being asked. The full detail is on Privacy & Data.
Not sure whose patch your question falls into? It does not matter. One shared inbox reaches all four of us, and the team is introduced on Meet the Masthead.
Worth including
Details that speed up our reply
None of this is required, but each detail shortens the back-and-forth.
- The title or address of the page you are writing about.
- What you expected to find and what you actually saw.
- For a hobby question, the tools or materials you already have.
- For a travel question, the season and rough length of your trip.
- Whether you are happy for us to quote your note in an article.
Asked before writing in
Common questions about contacting us
A few practical answers so your note reaches the right place.
How soon will someone reply?
Usually within a few days. Corrections can take longer, because we check the fix properly before changing the page.
Can you help with a booking, order or account?
Unfortunately not. We have no connection with the companies mentioned in articles, so those questions are best sent to them directly.
Who writes the pieces here?
The team does. When a piece names a business, treat it as a lead worth checking rather than an endorsement.
Do you keep my address once you have replied?
We use it only to reply. It is not added to any list unless you ask, and the privacy page explains the rest.
