Website Terms

These terms set out the simple rules that apply when you read or use Documentaries & Lectures. Reading the site means you agree to them. They are written to be read, so if anything is unclear, ask us through the Write to Us page.

General information, not personal advice

Our articles share general information about hobbies, films, home projects, travel, learning and everyday life. They are written by enthusiasts, not by licensed professionals, and they cannot take your particular circumstances into account. Before acting on anything that affects your health, safety, money, property or legal position, please speak to someone qualified who can look at your situation.

Practical steps, such as home repairs or outdoor activities, are described with care, but you remain responsible for deciding whether a task is safe for you to attempt and for following any manufacturer instructions or local rules.

Accuracy and corrections

We check our work and revisit older articles, yet details such as opening times, booking rules or software features can change after publication. We cannot promise that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will look at it; our approach to fixing mistakes is described on How We Put Articles Together.

Using our writing

The text, layout and illustrations on this site belong to the magazine or are used with permission. You are welcome to:

  • read, print or save articles for your own personal use;
  • quote a short passage with a clear credit and a link to the original page;
  • share links to any page.

Please do not copy whole articles to another website, republish them as your own, or use them in a product without asking us first.

Links to other websites

Some articles point to other websites for further reading. Those pages are run by other people, so their accuracy, their uptime and the way they treat your data are outside our hands. A link is not an endorsement of everything a site says or sells.

No accounts, no payments

The site has no registration, no shop and no paid membership. We never ask readers for passwords or payment details. If you receive a message claiming to be from us that asks for either, please treat it as suspicious.

Acceptable use

Please do not try to disrupt the site, probe it for weaknesses, overload it with automated requests or use it for anything unlawful.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that arise from relying on information on this site or from being unable to access it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.

Privacy and cookies

How we handle the small amount of data involved in running the site is explained on Privacy & Data and What Your Browser Keeps.

Changes to these terms

We revise this wording now and then, as the magazine itself evolves. Whatever is printed here at the time of your visit is what counts. Current wording: October 2026.
